FORT HARRISON EMERGENCY CONTROL CENTER
Helena, MT
Situated within the historic context of Fort Harrison Military Base, this adaptive reuse project transforms a former bakery into a state-of-the-art fire station, preserving the site's rich legacy while introducing contemporary functionality. The new 5,000 SF fire service living quarters include dedicated spaces for turn-out gear, a decontamination area, expanded storage for fire equipment, SCBA/Cascade systems, and maintenance facilities. These enhancements not only improve operational efficiency but also ensure the safety and comfort of EMS and fire personnel. The design harmonizes with the existing architectural fabric of the site, respecting its historical character while incorporating a modern stylistic approach that enhances both form and function.
